Shirly Ng BSc Hons, AHPC
PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Shirly graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Physiotherapy from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin (TCD), where she was also a recipient of the Ngee Ann Kongsi Scholarship (2021–2024).
She has gained clinical experience across large tertiary healthcare and private practice environments, working with post-operative patients as well as managing a broad range of musculoskeletal conditions. Her clinical work focuses on addressing pain related to muscular tightness, movement inefficiencies, and strength deficits through a combination of hands-on muscle release, targeted strengthening, and movement retraining, with an emphasis on long-term outcomes and injury prevention.
Committed to professional development and delivering the highest standard of care, Shirly actively pursues ongoing training to expand her clinical skill set. She is currently undertaking Pilates training towards certification, further enhancing her ability to guide patients in controlled, strength-based movement and postural retraining. In addition, she is scheduled to complete a Dry Needling certification, allowing for more targeted pain management and muscle release when clinically appropriate. She is also certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support with AED (2025), Standard First Aid with AED (2026), ensuring patient safety across all treatment settings.
In addition to her clinical practice, Shirly has been involved as a sports physiotherapist for field sports, providing on-field assessment, injury management, and return-to-play support. This experience has strengthened her ability to manage both acute injuries and longer-term rehabilitation with confidence and precision.
Alongside her professional career, Shirly brings over 10 years of experience as a competitive athlete. She is an active member of the Singapore Flying Disc Association, holds an SG-Coach Level 1 Technical Certification (Ultimate Frisbee), and has proudly represented Singapore as a national athlete in international competitions. Her lived experience as an athlete allows her to deeply understand training demands, recovery, and performance considerations from the patient’s perspective.
At Physio101, Shirly is dedicated to evidence-based, individualised physiotherapy, continually refining her skills to help patients move more efficiently, build resilience, and return to their daily activities and sport with confidence.
